This year it is the 9th Hungarian Wine Ball. In accordance with tradition, in 2014 the Boscolo New York Palace in Budapest will host the venue again. Since the first Hungarian Wine Ball in 2006, this exclusive event has been organized with more and more enthusiasm in higher and higher quality.
As one of the most prestigious balls in Budapest, this is a very special event because not only famous representatives of Hungarian business and culture, including foreign diplomats, but also the best Hungarian winemakers will participate. Wine drinkers can not be surprised when his/her dining partner talks about a wine he made himself.
The venue is aimed to present high-quality Hungarian wines in an appropriate environment; at the place they belong to, on the dining table. Wide range of wines has been selected by the organizers: elegant, traditional champagne, italian riesling as understood by the writer Márai, furmint with great expectations, spicy kékfrankos, heavy, Bordeaux-type cuvee and finally, the astonishing hungarian aszú, which can not be compared to any other dessert wine.
Each year a newcomer is added to the traditional line of wines; this year it is the new white cuvee from Eger, the Star of Eger.
The menu will be composed and prepared by András Wolf, the chef of Salon Restaurant, who won the title of “Chef of the Year 2013” by the Gault Millau Restaurant Guide.
