Tokaj Grand Opening 2014

Members of the Tokaj Reneissance Association will visit Budapest again on 20 June, on Friday night. Wines from 15 cellars will be available for tasting during the informal “Tasting on Foot”.

Two master courses will be organized by Borjour; the first – introduction of Tokaj Champagnes – will be held one hour before commencing the “Tasting on Foot”, whilst the master course of “Tokaj Aszú 2010” will commence 8 PM. These courses are free of charge. (registration in advance: info@borjour.hu)

Tokaj Opening 2014

Entry fee is HUF 3500 Ft, which includes unlimited tasting of wines exhibited by the cellars and mineral water. Organizers excluded “aszú wines” from the list of free tasting. This type of wine will be available for tasting in a separate room – in the Aszú Bar – for a modest charge.

The purpose of the Tokaj Renaissance Association (established in 1995) is the “Protection values in Tokaj-Hegyalja and advancement of this wine region”. In order to achieve this target, the members are engaged in “joint communication activities and the protection of the interests of the region”. Members may process only domestic and authorized grapes (furmint, hárslevelű, sárgamuskotály, kövérszőlő, kabar and zéta), they harvest grapes only manually and do not use any artificial method for increasing sugar or use artificial additives.
