With the help of ITD Hungary Zrt. 33 wine cellars had the opportunity to introduce themselves on the ‘Hong Kong International Wine and Spirits Fair’ from 4 to 6 November, where 62 countries on 13.000 square meters represented itself with more than 500 exhibitors. The Hungarian companies would want to build up as a good market position as possible on this extremely challenging and promising wine market.
In the past couple of years Hong Kong has become the center of the Asian wine trade, after the event when in 2008 the leadership of the city-state cancelled the import duty on wines. Hong Kong with its 7 million residents can in itself be a considerable demand market of the Hungarian wines, but thanks to the intermediary commerce towards China it could mean an entry into one of the world’s most dynamically developing wine markets..
